My Suggestions...

Well I think I might be able to help out with this song:

First see if you can increase the tempo a fair bit, as most Techno songs should be quite fast, usually if they are too slow it's hard to really enjoy. Anything faster than 135BPM or so should be good.

Second up the bass strength some more, it's hard to groove to and enjoy Techno if the base sounds sappy or weak. Other percussion intruments could use some more as well

and Third, try to have some effects for the main melody, as well try to experiement with multiple 16th notes and other strings of notes, as well see if you can give the synths some more energy and control over the song, making the main focus of the song, as well as doing many different kinds and styles.

I hope I helped, I'm still new to making music myself as well, but I hope we will both improve over time.

P.S. what tracking program do you use? I'm just curious as to what kinds people use, I use Mod-Plug for now, it's not bad for now but I would like to use something advanced in the future like FL or Renoise.

I use MIDI record producer. It's really efficient for writing good music but has really bad sound quality.

Cooooooooool....

Nice stuff, little slow but you gotta have some of that for variety. Nice overall effect, hope to see more of the same.

surfertmex responds:

Thanks bro - Glad you liked it - I plan on making something faster and focused more on precussion so stay tuned! :)

Nice Stuff

Another one for my collection, nice laid back basic Techno, wish I had more of these fillers. Keep it up, maybe on day you can produce some hard hitting faster tunes with nice drum kit beats and the like.

Hu-GoD responds:

thnx :] i am very noob in it, but ill be better xD thnx for the nice review

Pretty Good

Hmm, not bad for trying out techno. Pretty basic stuff going on, not much for melodys or anything. But hey it's great filler for any Techno music list (such as mine, I really don't like any other genres).

Hu-GoD responds:

i started making techno musics yestarday.. i'll be better than this ;) thanx for the nice review

Good Job

Wow, great song. I'll definitly play that at partys. The constant transitions getting stronger and stonger were what really cool about this. The only thing that would have made it greater could be a faster tempo(possibly as you progress through the song), it's just my preference really.

I'll make sure to check out more Techno songs you release in the future.

ShinDenjin responds:

thanks man... I have thought about the tempo change... but it wouldn't do it any justice... but hey, that's something to keep in mind for the next project=)

Great Techno+Vocals=Horrible

The begining was very good, I almost downloaded it. But the second the vocals showed up, I had to stop. Sorry dude but vocals of that kind do not belong in Techno music, so unless you make it the exact same again without vocals I will download it immediatly (and I'm sure many others will too) Once again I am sorry, I tried to zone out the vocals but they were just too strong and dominant.

So just keep that in mind, Vocals are okay for ambience in the begining if keep down and under control. But if they are louder than the actual beat of the music and have no real purpose other than to be there for the sake of it, then it really affects it.

DJjothic responds:

Ya i figured that the first time a herd it all the way threw. The vocals do go good with it, i just forgot to make it start out quite. i won't make that mistake with my next one.

Hello, I'm fairly new to this site, but I have known it for some time. I recently started to make my own music on Mod-Plug and thought I should upload them here, sure enough, here I am today doing just that.
